German-language Spiegel reports on portions of U.S. President Barack Obama's State of the Union address in which the president pledged to launch negotiations on a bilateral free trade deal between the U.S. and the European Union. Talks are expected to begin as early as June, and if successful would bring roughly half the world's economic output under a free trade regime.
