Obama, Karzai To Meet Amidst New Insider Attacks On NATO Forces

UPDATED 3:50 AM EST, January 8, 2013

US President Barack Obama will meet Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Friday, according to a statement issued by the White House and conveyed by Reuters. The White House statement noted that the President is "look[ing] forward to welcoming the Afghan delegation." The meeting will come at a time of sustained insider attacks on allied troops stationed in Afghanistan. On Monday a British soldier was killed by a suspected member of the Afghan National Army, a grim reminder that over 60 NATO personnel have died due to such attacks.
