Iran Warns Foreign Planes Away From Naval Drills

Iran has warned off foreign air traffic as the country conducts six days of naval exercises. The drills are aimed, according to Reuters, at showcasing the Islamic republic's ability to cripple global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. The saber-rattling is unlikely to calm international fears, pointedly expressed by Arab states such as the UAE and Saudi Arabic which have called for striking Iranian nuclear facilities, that nuclear weapons would give Tehran immunity to pursue regional territorial expansion.
