EPA reaches 25th coal electricity pollution settlement

The latest settlement will require WPS to pay fines of $1.2 million and spend $6 million on environmental mitigation projects.

The utility also agreed to cut pollution from its aging plants in Green Bay and in Rothschild, near Wausau, through $300 million in new pollution controls and the retirement, refueling or repowering of four units at those plants by June, 2015.
