Edison mistake behind Calif. carbon permit auction success

California's sale of all carbon permits at last month's auction was skewed by a mistake by Edison International that resulted in the company bidding for twice as many allowances as were available. A calculation from Bloomberg found that if done correctly, 225,000 permits would have not been sold.
