The U.S. International Trade Commission is investigating whether shipments of Apple products have violated U.S. trade law, according to an announcement on the agency's website.
Rival phone company Motorola filed a complaint with the commission charging that the import of certain iPhones, iPads and iPods violated the Tariff Act of 1930. Motorola has asked the commission to stop the import of the products.
The trade commission has not yet set a date for when its investigation will be completed.
